Your Cultural Interpreter: Emi
Just one hour’s train ride from Tokyo station, Kamakura, the lively 12th century capital of Japan, offers today’s visitor more than 180 temples and shrines, unique handicrafts and distinctive cuisine with 24 seasons. Emi has lived in the area for more than 30 years and will guide you through timeless and unique aspects of Japan.
She worked in the Tokyo bureau of a major US newspaper more than 10 years, and for the multilingual website nippon.com, Also was a chief researcher for the book “Sushi and Beyond”.
Has been enjoying tea ceremony more than 10 years. Loves nature activities such as seakayaking and hiking. Love potteries and being a member of the Japan Folk Crafts Art Association (Nihon Mingei Kyokai).
